I don’t really care for Fear the Walking Dead

I’m sorry but I really tried… like I do with many things, I gave it a fair shot but it just hasn’t grabbed me at all. I know it is not going to be like the other Walking Dead show but there are a ton of shows that I enjoy that aren’t the Walking Dead so let’s not use that as an excuse.

I was already kinda feeling iffy about the Walking Dead but last season reeled me back in somehow. This show though, it’s not interesting or fun and the story is kinda lame. The thing I dislike about it the most though are the characters. The are typical archetypes but not written well.

The four main characters are a worried mom, a step dad who is the foundation of the drama story telling, a rebellious late teens guy and a daughter who hasn’t really been justified as a character (in my opinion). Then you have the step-dad’s son and ex-wife who are just a backdrop for the drama. I am not invested in any of these people after 4 episodes and the drama just seems dumb and forced to me. The second episode was the best but it still wasn’t great. I enjoyed watching the fall of people and the socioeconomic breakdown…. but if I am going to watch a show then I have to like a few characters at least.

I am not going to diss anyone who actually enjoys this show but I am just saying that I think it’s bad and generic. It does what a zombie show or movie does but it doesn’t really excel at that. Maybe when more and more zombies show up I will watch it cause I know the Walking Dead dues will do that really well and I am a sucker for prosthetic gore and makeup effects.

Anyway, sound off and such… thanks for reading 😀
